Students. Staff. Stability.
Protecting Progress. Sustaining Success.
A school board’s role is to lead with clarity—not manage daily operations—by setting direction, creating the conditions for success, and holding itself accountable for results.
Districts make lasting progress when boards stay focused on learning, understand how systems work together, use data responsibly, and support educators.
Franklin County Schools has strong momentum worth protecting. As a board member, I would steward that progress, strengthen alignment across the system, and plan responsibly for the future—so staff can do their work well and every student is supported.
Students — Teaching & Learning | Focused on Growth for Every Student
Franklin County Schools is doing important work to improve outcomes for students, and many are succeeding because of strong instruction and support. As a board member, my responsibility is to help ensure that every student has access to high-quality learning and the support they need to grow—regardless of background, school, or starting point (ensuring district policies support safe learning environments).
I commit to:
-
Monitoring progress across all schools and student groups to ensure district goals are translating into consistent growth and opportunity for every learner.
-
Keeping board discussions grounded in how district strategies show up in classrooms, so success is not dependent on circumstance or location.
Staff — Professional Capacity | Supporting the People Who Do the Work
The success of Franklin County Schools depends on the people who serve students every day. Teachers, support staff, and school leaders are the backbone of the district, and the board plays a critical role in creating the conditions for their success.
I commit to:
-
Supporting policies that strengthen professional capacity and retention, recognizing that stable, supported staff are essential to student achievement.
-
Promoting clear priorities and reasonable expectations, so staff can focus their time and energy on instruction and student support.
Stability — Leadership | Responsible Use of Resources
Sustained improvement requires steady leadership, fiscal responsibility, and alignment across the district. Franklin County Schools benefits when the board focuses on long-term progress rather than frequent shifts in direction.
I commit to:
-
Using district resources strategically and responsibly, prioritizing initiatives that align with the strategic plan and demonstrate impact.
-
Providing consistent governance and oversight, so schools and staff have the stability needed to implement the district’s vision effectively.
I believe deeply in supporting people. Our educators, staff, and school leaders do some of the most important work in our community, and they deserve respect, trust, and meaningful support to succeed.
At the same time, accountability matters—especially when we are serving children and stewarding public resources. But accountability has to start with us. We cannot expect results or responsibility from others if we are not willing to hold ourselves accountable for the decisions we make and the systems we oversee.
As a board member, I will hold myself—and encourage my colleagues to do the same—to a standard of clarity, follow-through, and honest reflection. That means asking whether our policies are working, whether our expectations are realistic, and whether we are providing the support needed to meet them.
Supporting people and holding ourselves accountable are not competing ideas. They go hand in hand. When leadership models responsibility, transparency, and consistency, accountability becomes fair, constructive, and focused on improvement. That is the approach I bring to this work, and it is what our students, staff, and community deserve.
